🍳 Preparation Instructions

  1. For Appam:

    • Mix 1 cup of Nirapara Appam Idiyappam Podi with 1½ cups of hot water and a pinch of salt to form a smooth batter.

    • Let the batter ferment for 8–12 hours.

    • Pour the batter into a heated appam pan, swirling to form a lacy edge.

    • Cover and cook for 3–5 minutes until the center is soft and the edges are crisp

  2. For Idiyappam:

    • Mix 1 cup of Nirapara Appam Idiyappam Podi with 1½ cups of hot water and a pinch of salt to form a smooth dough.

    • Fill an idiyappam maker with the dough and press onto banana leaves or greased plates.

    • Steam for 10–15 minutes until cooked.
